This course is for first line managers and those who have or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities. It provides an introduction to health, safety, welfare and environmental issues for those requiring an understanding of their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will provide a sound knowledge base to enable them to give valuable assistance in safely managing a construction site.  .

Eligibility - you must be aged 19+ and live in West Yorkshire.

Industry: Construction, Engineering 

Start dates: Courses available from July 5th

Duration: The programme will run for 2 consecutive days, available until 30th March 2023

Venue: Birkwood Plant Training, 22 Weeland Road, Crofton, Wakefield, WF4 1LN

 

Overview/summary of training

This course is for first line managers and those who have or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities. It provides an introduction to health, safety, welfare and environmental issues for those requiring an understanding of their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will provide a sound knowledge base to enable them to give valuable assistance in safely managing a construction site.  

Maintaining a positive health and safety culture within the workplace, best practice and communications.  

To pass the SSSTS course delegates must:  

Complete all 2 days.  

Successfully interact with the class and pass exercises set during the course.  

Complete and pass a multiple-choice assessment end of the course.  

On achievement participants will receive a certificate which will be valid for 5 years.  

SSSTS will reinforce essential knowledge and capabilities on site.
