This course offers a hands-on, career-oriented learning experience to help individuals develop fundamental computer skills and prepare them for entry into ICT careers.

The Cisco IT Essentials course could be an exciting first step that leads to a new career within the digital sector, or enables you to further develop your career in this industry.

This course has an emphasis on practical activities to help individuals develop fundamental skills around computer hardware, mobile device hardware, software, and concepts of networking and security.

The course will enable individuals to learn to: install, configure, and troubleshoot computers and mobile devices; identify common security threats like phishing and spoofing; and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment.

Upon completion individuals may be able to progress within their current role or gain entry into digital marketplace as an ICT professional.

How will I study?

You will learn through various methods adapted to need. These will include tutor-led sessions, group support and online material provided with hands on practical activities

Wednesday evenings 6-8pm

Please note: You will need to have a computer capable of running Virtualbox and have at least 50Gb of disc space with minimum of 4Gb of memory but more preferable 8Gb or 16GB
