Course overview

This qualification is ideal for individuals who want to learn about or update their knowledge of health and safety in the construction industry. It’s particularly suited to those looking to enter into/understand the sector.

In line with our mission to promote equality in construction, we encourage applications from women and underrepresented groups.

The course is certified and provides participants with a basic knowledge of health and safety requirements, risks and hazards, signage and PPE.

Through this course, learners will:

  • Develop their knowledge of health and safety laws and responsibilities
  • Learn to how to provide and maintain safe workspaces, machines and equipment
  • Learn how to cooperate with employers and colleagues on health and safety matters including recognising safety signs and the types and purpose of PPE

Upon completion individuals may be able to progress within their current role or consider a move into the construction sector, possibly leading to other opportunities in the building, design and engineering industries.

How will I learn?

Face-to-face, small group lessons. The course will include interactive elements, lectures and presentations.

Tuesday evenings, 6-9pm.
