The ‘Using Collaborative Technology to Support Remote Working’ course will develop the individual’s confidence to stay safe and secure when working with the technology; plan and set up the technology to be able to work collaboratively and use a range of tools to develop the skills to work more effectively whilst remotely working.

The conversion programme offered by Shipley College offers individuals the opportunity to develop their Essential Digital Skills, as defined by the Department for Education’s, ‘national standards for essential digital skills’.

Each course is designed to provide a pathway from each essential digital skill. Each incorporates an accredited unit qualification which will engage the individual and inspire confidence. Delegates on the ‘Enhancing Technical Support Skills’ course will learn about: IT security, gaining a unit at Level 2; setting up an IT system; optimising their IT system’s performance in the context of PCs and mobile devices.

The ‘Developing Digital Presentation Skills From Slides to Sites’ course will begin with a consolidation of skills using presentation software, and then will develop the skills to create and publish a website for public presentation.

The ‘Digital Data Analysis Incorporating an Introduction to Coding’ course recognises the importance of data analytics in the workplace. The course will work from a foundation of strong spreadsheet skills and develop confidence in developing functionality skills by using programming techniques.

The ‘Cisco IT Essentials’ will build on technical support. It will introduce the fundamentals of computer hardware and software, mobile devices, security and networking concepts, and the responsibilities of an IT professional.
