Course description: This course is aimed at people currently working in the sector looking to develop a knowledge on BIM or those working as tradespersons looking to gain a technical insight/skill.
Learners will gain knowledge of fundamental concepts associated with BIM; from knowledge of key terminology to the principles and standards associated with BIM implementation in the UK. They will develop an understanding of the drivers leading to BIM implementation, the barriers to success and the benefits that can be gained.

Learners will then be able to progress to Implementation of BIM, which provides the underpinning knowledge and understanding needed to support decision making, to plan the introduction of BIM in an organisation, and learn about the implementation process.

Course description: This course is suitable for employed or self employed individuals who have already received some basic construction training and are looking to enhance these skills.
The aims of the qualification are to enable learners:

  • To gain work-related skills within the construction industries
  • To prepare for further training or employment within their chosen occupational area/s
  • To have an insight into the core activities within their chosen occupational area/s to be able to make informed decisions on future career choices.

The course will cover two elements: working safely in construction through classroom study, and practical study in either bricklaying, carpentry and joinery or plumbing.
